Granny Wendy Celebrates 100th Birthday

There’s something magical about reaching a 100th birthday milestone: an incredible century of memories and experiences! This month we celebrated Wendy Jackson’s 100th birthday, a woman who was ahead of her time, glamorous and positive with an immense love for her Angora goats and travel.

She is one of the first ladies in South Africa to farm with Angora goats and her mohair journey began in the 1950s. Her years were filled with a family of six children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, climbing Table Mountain at 81 and camping in a tent in the Baviaanskloof at 90!

Today Granny Wendy is living out her last years in her happy place, Baakensrug in Beaufort West, surrounded by her loved ones (and Angora goats of course). The South African Mohair Industry wishes you the happiest birthday!

Wendy’s advice to those that will hear: “Make your own way in the world! And if someone asks how you are, answer on top of the world (even if for a moment you don’t feel that way).”
